MacPass stickers are currently free but will be $1 each after July 1, 2020. Anyone can open a MacPass account, which allows for online deposits and transaction information. The stickers are part of a new tolling software system installed last fall. “Drivers still need to stop and wait for the gate to rise before proceeding, but the new process will speed transactions for frequent customers.” ![]() “Unlike the old MacPass cards that required drivers to roll down their window and hold the card near the reader device, the new system will automatically scan the windshield sticker when drivers pull up to the toll booths,” MBA Executive Secretary Kim Nowack said. Customers are encouraged to visit the MacPass website at to sign up for an account and receive stickers in the mail. The Mackinac Bridge Authority (MBA) has been slowly replacing current MacPass cards with the new stickers for the past few months and is now encouraging others to make the switch as well. I am interested in staying compact like the DA300/305/310 for my particular situation. The MacPass toll card is being replaced with a windshield-mounted sticker for customer convenience, and for a limited time they are available for free. I believe this use case points me straight at the DA310. I am potentially interested in MAC address pass through in the future - I also have a Dell WD19TB dock for my work-supplied Latitude connected to monitor/keyboard/mouse which I operate on its own VLAN via wire (because we have found that work runs network mapping software and I'm not into letting them crawl my home network) but may wish to sometimes connect my new-to-me personal Latitude and use the MAC address to direct the port to different VLANs depending on which Latitude is connected. I have activated the "Control WLAN" feature in the BIOS (to shut down the Wifi interface when wired LAN is detected) - at first it didn't work but now it seems to (and I wasn't sure whether this feature only supported certain USB-C NICs). The system is often plugged in, using USB-C PD through the DA with a wired LAN port in my home office. My use case is going to be a personal-use Latitude and I am borrowing a DA305 right now to do some testing. DA310 might be Realtek? RTL8153?ĮDIT 2: Forgot to mention that I'm considering Linux dual-boot down the road. I'm wondering what other differences that might imply in under-the-hood details of implementation? Different/better/worse chipset? Different power/heat? Impact to modern standby in Win11? I don't need a VGA port but should I just get the DA310 to ensure the most features possible are supported?ĮDIT: DA305 appears to be ASIX AX88179A. ![]() Digging a little deeper it seems that that DA305 does not support PXE boot, MAC address passthrough, WOL etc. Looking at the PA305 and PA310, the high level literature leads one to believe that the only difference is the VGA port (6-in-1 vs 7-in-1). Just trying to sort out a couple of details on a personal-use Dell system. ![]() Don’t editorialize titles or submit clickbait.ĭell Global: Manuals, Drivers, Hot Topics, and Top Solutionsĭell support on Twitter: product support:. ![]()
